AN ALTERNATIVE APPROACH TO HEALING

We were born with an inherent ability to heal. Our unique constitution of elements grants us the avenue to have a beautiful conscious experience. Our experience can be thrown out of balance through an improper diet, stress and lifestyle choices. Eastern Medicine brings an understanding of the balance between our external and internal experience. Massage connects the mind and body through the act of therapeutic touch. This practice combines Acupuncture Ayurveda and Massage to deliver an experience designed to bring balance to the Mind, Body, and Spirit.

DANA HURLEY A.P., L.M.T.

A look into my journey

In 2012 I began my massage career and opened the door for the a much deeper lifestyle. As I have grown in this practice, I have appreciated the importance of maintaining health through self care. My continuing curiosity into the body's healing mechanism led me to Yoga and eventually Ayurveda. In 2023, I graduated from Maharishi International University with a Masters degree in Ayurveda and Integrated health.  I believe the physiology is designed to heal. My practice centers around enlivening the body's inner intelligence to bring balance and strengthen the mind body connection.

BODYWORK

Complimentary Health Understanding

ASHIATSU

Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy is a barefoot massage technique where the therapist delivers a deep, broad, consistent pressure. The client receives a therapeutic massage without experiencing pain or discomfort.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial release is an opening within the fascial system. Everyone has a web of experience recorded within their body. When we experience trauma our body has a natural sequence used to reset itself back to a normal function. Since we are emotional beings sometimes our bodies need assistance to unwind into a healing sequence. Myofascial release is a technique which uses slow constant pressure to facilitate a healing sequence.

SARGA BODYWORK

SARGA  BODYWORK is a barefoot massage method that employs the use of a fabric strap fastened to a massage table to deliver therapeutic myofascial and deep tissue techniques. This fabric strap is used by practitioners for stability and to add tensional and gravitational force to specific manual therapy methods. These methods, combined with the broad contact surface of the foot facilitate less restriction and more ease and relaxation in recipients’ bodies.

 CUPPING THERAPY

A healing technique using vacuum massage to bring up stagnate chi. Cups are placed in strategic areas and/or moved to help open up energy pathways and remove toxins and tension

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Thai yoga bodywork incorporates passive stretching and compression along meridian lines to open up stagnant energy channels and increase mobility.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep Tissue Massage is a healing technique based on the principle of free and uninterrupted energy flow and helps activate the natural healing processes in each patient's body as well as to restore their physical and emotional well-being. As a certified Massage Therapy Professional, I help patients reduce their stress and anxiety, among other ailments.

CRANIALSACRAL FASCIAL THERAPY

Dr. Barry Gillespie discovered the Craniosacral Fascial System, which consists of a slight motion of the brain and spinal cord pumping cerebrospinal fluid into the fascial web that connects every structural cell of the body. When physical and/or emotional traumas adversely tighten this freely moving system, tremendous pressure can be exerted on associated nerves, muscles, organs, blood vessels, lymph vessels and bones. Profound effects on body function may result as a major cause of the conditions listed above.

GUA SHA

Gua sha is an ancient form of soft tissue mobilization where a tool is used to stimulate circulation around areas of stagnation. Gua sha breaks up stagnant inflammation and brings a petechial rash to the surface of the skin and increases mobilization and relieves pain.

MEDICAL MASSAGE

This training demonstrates an understanding into medical conditions to apply appropriate and supportive touch therapies. Integrative healthcare is necessary for the optimization of our medical system. I firmly believe in coordinating care with other providers to bring about the best outcome.
